Paul Klee Twittering Machine note card. Watercolor and pen and ink on paper from 1922. Swiss German artist Paul Klee worked in a variety of different styles throughout his career, and Twittering Machine exhibits his tendency to draw inspiration from different artistic movements. The painting depicts biology and machinery as a group of line drawn birds sit on a wire connected to a hand-crank. The work is both beautiful and terrifying with its subtle use of watercolor purples and blues. A great gift for fans of Paul Klee, German art, and expressionism.
