He was also a student of orientalism. After Klee’s visit to Tunisia, where he was inspired by the quality of light, he returned home with the determination to be a painter. This led him to create The Style Of Kairouan, a composition of simple coloured shapes. It is the first purely abstract painting created by Paul Klee. This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
