Kimberly Lawrence is a hobbyist photographer. She enjoys taking pictures of nature. Though most stand on the own she loves taking those photos and changing them into patterns through digital manipulation. She also will sketch out some of the images that appear and you can see a few of those items in the designs.
Born in Northern Michigan, Kimberly grew up appreciating what nature has to offer with lake Michigan always within a few minutes away. Always in love with the rivers and trees that give Northern Michigan its distinct attraction for outdoor enthusiast, she has continued that love affair well into her adulthood. Her husband and she relocated to Oregon with their son 11 years ago. Oregon has offered up such beauty as well as some of the surrounding states reminding her of her childhood surroundings.
Being a Registered Nurse is what allowed Kimberly to travel through Oregon until they finally settled down. Loss of her central vision due to Macular telangiectasia type 2 has taken her away from patient care. Being the optimist and opportunist had her pulling out her hard drive and discs of pictures. With lots of time on her hands, her family and she have been traveling near and far to add to the portfolio.
Using her Cannon EOS Rebel DSLR with it’s multiple lenses, Panasonic DMX digital point and shoot and her phone (currently iPhone) she captures hundreds of pictures to find that perfect one. All her editing is done with LightroomCC or PhotoshopCC., She does this to honor nature, her muse, hence the name Patterns4Nature.
