Pastel Peach Daylily True Beauty Gandhi Quote Poster

This beautiful 11" x 14" poster with an inspirational quote by Mahatma Gandhi features a peach daylily flower on a pastel peach watercolor splash background. Quote reads, "True beauty lies in purity of the heart". This particular daylily cultivar is called H. Small World Brian. It's a peach pink blend with a gold edge and green throat. The flowers on this one measure an average of 6" in diameter and the bloom scape reaches an average of 42" tall. Daylilies are one of the most carefree of all perennial flowers to grow with over 80,000 different varieties registered with the American Hemerocallis Society. Collectors grow wild for them and anxiously await new introductions each year, which can sell for hundreds of dollars (no joke!). The botanical name is Latin and means "beauty for a day". Each bud opens for one day only, usually in the early morning and then closing in the late evening or overnight. Even though each flower only lasts a day, a large clump can have hundreds of buds with one to dozens open each day. An established clump can be quite spectacular in full bloom! They grow best in full sun with well-drained fertile soil, however, they will also do pretty good if the growing conditions are not optimal. I grow them in the low Sonoran Desert of Arizona, and here they require afternoon shade, as the sun is too intense in the summer. Customize the text using Zazzle's many font styles and colors.
