Paris Horse Market 1855 Poster
Vintage lithograph of Le Marche aux Chevaux, by the most famous female painter of the 19th century, Rosa Bonheur. The original 8 foot by 16 foot oil painting made such an impression that it was exhibited at the Salon in Paris during 1853, two years before it was even finished. This Paris horse market took place on the tree-lined Boulevard de l’Hopital. Visible in the background on the left is the Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
