Emile-Allain Séguy was a popular French designer throughout the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements of the 1920s.
The plate features five naturalistic illustrations of exotic butterflies from Congo and China, executed with shades of brown, green, blue, and orange.
Each plate represents an effort of the artist to connect nature with the arts. An accomplished entomologist, furthermore, an artist of Pochoir. His work today, is revered by the world for his unusual style and compositions. The Parisian Art Deco plates are dramatic and timeless.

I was a bit disappointed to find that for the price the puzzle was only a small 252 pieces ..... but ....... it is so intricate that if it was bigger I would be frazzled by now
bought as a special Christmas jigsaw for work colleagues to play with in our breaks - it is a great way to get the team to collaborate on something fun, and to start conversations between folk, and a great positive opportunity to provide compliments on the effort put in and progress being made
the puzzle itself is beautifully made - each piece feels lovely (not a cheap cardboard puzzle) and the shapes are all similar but different
Still a work in progress after a week - it's great!!!!
a truly lovely thing ... it will come out each year - both at work and at home. great image, and fantastic finish on the pieces
