Painted Ba-Gua

This colourful design is my painterly interpretation of the Feng Shui Ba-Gua, or Eight Directions. Said to have developed from divinatory practices using tortoise shells, the wisdom encoded in the Ba-Gua became the foundation for all of the Chinese arts. I used a variety of real-life and digital painting techniques to create this stunning image, with a classic arrangement of the trigrams and colour choices guided by the Black Hat School of Feng Shui.
