"Over the whale road" - a 'kenning' (poetic phrase) from the famous Old English epic poem 'Beowulf' - is presented here in the Old English language, written in beautiful Old English runes, also known as Anglo-Saxon runes or 'the futhorc' (centre). This design also features the same phrase in Modern English (right), and in Old English, written in the English (Latin) alphabet (left). The background is a photo of the North Sea from the coast of Lincolnshire, England (UK). The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
