Orangutans have fingerprints. They get goose bumps when they are cold. They have three of the same blood types as humans. And they are endangered. These gentle, intelligent creatures are found in the wild in just two small areas of our planet - in rainforests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. The artist is an active member of OFI and donates 100% of her profit from the sale of this item to Orangutan Foundation International whose founder has been working for more than 35 years to save the orangutan and their habitat. This orphan baby is grabbing its own hair for a sense of security since that is how they cling to their mothers as they move through the rainforest canopy for fruit and vegetation that make up their diet.
