Original Hip Hop Mixtapes T-Shirt

The original JAM TAPES, were the forerunner of what we consider "Mixtapes" today, Original rap and DJ performances by NYCs pioneer MC and MC Crews recorded on cassette tapes and traded amongst the Hip Hop community back in the 1970s and 80s before the advent of commercial mix tapes/cds when Hip Hop music was in its infancy. It was the only way to hear live performances of your favorite groups. These tapes would travel the entire tri-state area and beyond, and now are collected by historians and preservers of the culture. Many snippets from live shows were eventually used as samples on songs, such as the famous "PUERTO RICOOO, HOOO"..
