Orangutans are an endangered species. These gentle red haired primates are great apes that have blood types just like people. Their natural habitat is found on only two islands - Borneo and Sumatra, in the dwindling rainforest. Help spread awareness about these intelligent and gentle animals with this button. The artist is a volunteer with OFI on the island of Borneo and donates her profits to support that conservation cause. There are approximately 350 orangutan orphans at the Care Centre. Many of their mothers were killed as they desperately sought food in the palm oil plantations after rainforest was destroyed. The rainforests in this location are home to many unique species.
