Ophelia, by British artist Sir John Everett Millais, is a painting he began in 1851 and completed in 1852. It was inspired by the character of the same name in the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare which takes place in Denmark. Ophelia has gone insane. She climbed up a willow tree and he branch she is on that is over a brook breaks. She falls in and is singing, oblivious to her situation, before she drowns. It is in the collection of Tate Britain in London and in my digital art collection.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
