Olive Trees, by van Gogh Mouse Pad
Like many of van Gogh’s works, this was painted in 1889. Vincent van Gogh’s use of colour is interesting. Note the use of lavender when it comes to the ground beneath the trees and the mountains in the back. While van Gogh was a post-impressionist, there are factors of realism at work here. Olive trees do tend to have a bushy appearance, and some trunks do appear to be twisted. In viewing real olive trees, I was surprised at the realism aspect of this work. Buy as is or add text.
