This design features the state flag of Ohio, which is in the East North Central region of the Midwestern United States. The state's capital and largest city is Columbus; Cleveland and Cincinnati are other major metropolitan areas. The state takes its name from the Ohio River, the name of which came, in turn, from a native American word meaning "good river", "great river" or "large creek".
