Octopus Attack T-Shirt

The story of the octopus begins with Jason and the Argonauts. On their historic journey to find the Golden Fleece, the Argonauts encountered a gigantic creature. They had not seen a creature to this sort before. It had eight arms, each the size on one of the oars of their ship, Argo. Each arm was covered with suction cups. The creature resembled a ghost that attacked the ship from under the water. As the octopus grabbed the hull of the ship with four of its arms, it used its other arms to snag men off of the boat and pull them under the water. The Argonauts leapt to their weapons to wage battle with the strange monster. For hours the men stabbed and slashed at the tentacles of the octopus with no result. Finally, Poseidon, the sea-god, came to rescue. He instructed Jason to coat himself and the others with animal fat so they would not get stuck to the tentacles of the octopus. Now able to fight with out fear of being pulled overboard, the remaining men armed themselves with axes and began to hack away at the arms of the octopus. Soon the octopus was crippled and later died. To honour the great enemy of the Argonauts, Poseidon raised the dead body of the octopus up into the heavens.
