Nordic Star Tile (blue and black)
The eight-pointed star is an ancient pre-Christian motif in central and northern Europe, a motif that was adapted by early Christians to represent the Quaternity (equal-armed) Cross. For Christians, the radial symmetry, emanating from a centre of light, represents the first day of Creation, order rising from Chaos. Its earlier symbolism was one of balance, harmony, and cosmic order. But--as always, I like it because it is a lovely design with nice balance.
