Nita Naldi: Emerald Beauty Art Print (1920)
Embark on a journey into the captivating world of the silent film era with our art print, 'Nita Naldi: Emerald Beauty.' This vintage-style illustration pays homage to the stunning and talented Nita Naldi, an American stage performer and renowned silent film actress. Born Mary Nonna Dooley in the heart of New York City, Nita's journey to stardom was a testament to resilience and dedication.
Emerging from humble beginnings, Naldi navigated early hardships, caring for her siblings after her mother's passing. Through sheer determination, she ventured into vaudeville and Broadway, gracing stages like the Winter Garden Theatre and the Ziegfeld Follies. Her breakthrough role in William A. Brady's play 'Opportunity' marked the beginning of her ascent to cinematic stardom.
Naldi's pivotal role in 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' opposite John Barrymore led to broader recognition. However, it was her portrayal of Doña Sol in 'Blood and Sand' alongside Rudolph Valentino that solidified her image as a mesmerising vamp, a persona that accompanied her throughout her career. Despite her captivating performances and on-screen allure, Naldi's friendship with Valentino and his wife, Natacha Rambova, soured after their divorce.
After a series of successful films in Europe, Naldi retired without transitioning to sound films. She spent her final years in New York City, where she passed away in 1961, leaving behind a legacy of cinematic brilliance and captivating allure.
Our art print, reminiscent of early lobby cards and classic silent film advertising, captures Nita Naldi's essence as the radiant emerald of silent cinema. It's a tribute to a trailblazing actress whose beauty and talent left an indelible mark on the golden age of silent films.
'Nita Naldi: Emerald Beauty' art print is more than an illustration; it's a window into the captivating life of a silent film icon. Perfect for collectors or those seeking to infuse their space with the allure and grace of vintage cinema, this print celebrates the legacy of a luminous star from the bygone era of silent films.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
