The Nicaraguan flag is a horizontal bicolour triband with in the centre an emblem. The used colours in the flag are blue, white. The proportion of the Nicaraguan flag is 3:5. The Flag of Nicaragua was adopted in 1971. The first use of the current flag design was in 1823. The last change to the current Nicaraguan flag design was in 1908.
