New York Giants 1905 - Vintage Poster

Enhanced and restored by Scenesfromthepast.net The 1905 New York Giants won their second consecutive National League pennant. They beat the Philadelphia Athletics in the World Series. This team featured three Hall of Famers: manager John McGraw, catcher Roger Bresnahan, and pitchers Christy Mathewson and Joe McGinnity. Mathewson won the pitching triple crown and then had one of the greatest World Series performances of all-time, with three shutouts in six days. Only six men pitched for the Giants in 1905. The offence, led by "Turkey" Mike Donlin, scored the most runs in the majors.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
