From the Hebrew prayer, Mi Ha'Ish ("Who Is the Man"), sung at Shabbat services in many synagogues. This piece is printed from an original artwork calligraphed with a flat brush by Melissa Dinwiddie in flame colours on black paper, with blue, green, and turquoise coloured pencil outlines. The artwork says: "Guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit," from the full text of Mi Ha'Ish. (Transliteration of Hebrew: MI HA'ISH Mi ha'ish Hachafetz chayim Ohev yamim Lir'ot tov Netzor leshoncha meira Us'fatecha midaber mirma Sur meira Va'asei tov Bakesh shalom Verodfeihu. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
