Neon Sword Pop Art Gladiolus Botanical Notebook
The Romans knew exactly what they were doing when they named this plant. Gladiolus. The little sword.
Look at this towering spike of sheer arrogance. While most of the Iridaceae family are perfectly content to flutter politely near the ground, the Gladiolus builds a literal weapon. Its leaves are rigid, sharp, and perfectly structured to slice straight through competing meadow grass. When a gladiator survived a brutal fight in the Colosseum, the crowd didn't toss delicate daisies at him. They showered him in gladioli. It is the botanical equivalent of a victory parade.
In Victorian flower language, handing someone a red gladiolus meant, quite literally, "You pierce my heart with your sword." It is aggressive romance.
This specific cover renders the flower in saturated, screaming pop art. It is arguably the only artistic style loud enough to handle the subject matter. Most modern garden gladioli are bred from tough South African stock, engineered over decades to produce monstrous, top-heavy blooms that require an embarrassing amount of bamboo staking just to stay upright in a mild breeze. But underneath it all, they are ruthless survivors. They grow from a flattened underground corm, hoarding energy in the dark dirt all winter just to detonate into colour come August.
That makes this notebook the perfect repository for your most ruthless planning.
You do not draught polite apologies in a journal guarded by a botanical sword. You use it to plot the absolute eradication of ground elder from your borders. To frantically sketch out the planting scheme that will finally humiliate your neighbour's pathetic attempts at a summer display.
The spiral binding is a massive relief for anyone who actually ventures outdoors to do their work. It folds completely flat against its own back. Try fighting a stiff, glued spine while you are sitting in the dirt trying to quickly record the emergence of a rare pollinator. You simply can't do it without destroying the book. The paper here is thick enough to take a heavy fountain pen beautifully without bleeding through, ensuring your most sharp and radical ideas are permanently anchored to the page.

This arrived So Much faster than I was expecting. I left plenty of time for international shipping and then didn't need it. I wasn't sure how the image would turn out (have never bought a notebook from Zazzle before). I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the image.
