Mount Rushmore is a monumental sculpture carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. It features the 60-foot-tall heads of four U.S. presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Conceived by sculptor Gutzon Borglum, the project took 14 years to complete, from 1927 to 1941. The monument represents the birth, growth, development, and preservation of the United States.
