"Monkey" is an artwork by Georges Seurat, a French artist, created in 1884. The piece depicts a monkey in strict profile, imparting a timeless and idealised appearance to the animal. Seurat used minimal detail and hatching and cross-hatching techniques with Conté crayon to define the essential aspects of the monkey in light and shade. The artwork is a study for Seurat's famous painting "La Grande Jatte," which portrays the leisurely activities of the Parisian bourgeoisie on a Sunday afternoon.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
