Monkeys are very social animals, so they learn early in life to communicate well within their groups. They vocalise, have facial expressions, and use body movements to get their messages across. The expression on this monkey's face is priceless as he sits high in a tree staring down at the photographer, as if to say "Why are you taking my picture." We created a delicate background pattern from the wonderful warm colour and tones in the animal’s coat to frame this expressive photograph.
