The painting was done in oil on canvas as Monet was viewing the San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice from his waterfront hotel Venice window. The impressionist painting of the Venice sunset shows the Venetian cathedral and bell tower that are located on the Venice island at sunset. San Giorgio Maggiore al Crepuscolo is sometimes called Dusk in Venice, San Giorgio Maggiore by Twilight and Sunset in Venice. The impressionist painting of sunset was painted in the colours of a brilliant sunset - bright orange, yellow, and a ribbon of blue fading in the sky.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
