MONET Nympheas: 1915 Greeting Card

Nympheas by Monet: This vibrant water lilies painting was an oil on canvas painted in 1915 by Claude Monet in stark contrast to the First World War going on all around him. The bright blues and greens are much more vibrant than the muted hues in which he painted his original Water Lilies and Water Lily Pond series paintings (at the turn of the century, 1897 to 1906). This was probably due to his change in visual colour perception with the onset of cataracts in his older age.

A beautiful card. Highest quality materials and print. Misunderstood the explanation of the gold accent. I took it as the design would be metallic in its appearance. Still a lovely card and I am extremely happy with it overall. Perfect, only that I expected the gold to be metallic.
