MINING MAP of TOMBSTONE ARIZONA 1881 Poster

MINING MAP of TOMBSTONE ARIZONA 1881 Poster

A detailed 1881 civil engineer's map of TOMBSTONE ARIZONA Mining. The central panel shows all the mines opened near town. Framed by Jack hammer steel, cables, and miner's tools. One panel shows COCHISE COUNTY Mining and 4 others plat mining claims in districts near Tombstone. The other exterior panels show the Tombstone Stock Exchange and various significant Mining Company facilities. At the bottom is a nice panoramic pictorial of Tombstone city as it was in 1881. A rare, one-of-a-kind map. All colours and tones optimised for optimal presentation. An ugly muddy colour cast removed. Tombstone was perhaps the most renowned of Arizona's old mining camps. In 1877, the first mining claim was named Tombstone, and rumours of rich strikes made a boom town of the settlement that adopted this name. Over the course of 7 years the mines produced millions of dollars in silver and gold before rising underground waters forced suspension of operations.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
