Minarets & Entrance of Metwaleys Roberts/Haghe Art Jigsaw Puzzle
Minarets and Grand Entrance of the Metwaleys at Cairo. - From 1838 to 1840, English painter David Roberts travelled throughout Egypt from Alexandria to Abu Simbel and through Sinai to Petra, Jerusalem, Palestine, and Lebanon. Based on his sketches and paintings, Belgian engraver Louis Haghe produced hundreds of lithographs engraved on stone, published as The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt and Nubia (1842-1846) and Egypt and Nubia (1846-1849). While digital copies are widely available, they are often smaller or in a hard to use format (or else rough, blurry and dirty). This collection is from unedited TIF (TIFF) originals on file in the Library of Congress. These here are cropped, cleaned up of any glaring dirtiness, preserved in high resolution TIF, and then converted to JPEG for use on Zazzle. There may be variations in colour or detail due to editing. See all these Roberts / Haghe works collected in this Zazzle store in this category (HOLY LAND, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt & Nubia).

I was a bit disappointed to find that for the price the puzzle was only a small 252 pieces ..... but ....... it is so intricate that if it was bigger I would be frazzled by now
bought as a special Christmas jigsaw for work colleagues to play with in our breaks - it is a great way to get the team to collaborate on something fun, and to start conversations between folk, and a great positive opportunity to provide compliments on the effort put in and progress being made
the puzzle itself is beautifully made - each piece feels lovely (not a cheap cardboard puzzle) and the shapes are all similar but different
Still a work in progress after a week - it's great!!!!
a truly lovely thing ... it will come out each year - both at work and at home. great image, and fantastic finish on the pieces
