About This Design

Mihazu Mug

[Sanwataru] Tsurumi. The 'Monten' is called 'Mitsutsuru.' It was Tanchokaku that became monsho. The elegant style of Tancho Tsuru has an ancient legend in China and Japan that hermits fly in. The contrast between the pine tree branch and the crane is described as "The crane becomes the branches of a thousand years, as well as the treetops" (The Tale of the Four Seasons), and the pine tree branch and the crane are displayed together with the symbol of longevity on the island platform, which is made from pine trees and bamboo as Mt. Yomogirai. (Written by Kosaku ITO, "The Emblem of Japan")
