Vintage Mermaids Swimming in Waves - Illustration Sea Mermaids -
A very old antique illustration of Victorian mermaids swimming in the waves with a young mermaid swimming alongside. The mer-baby seems to be quite a little fish! The mermaid style is quite Art Nouveau, which is French for New Art, popular between 1890 to 1910. Art Nouveau typically portrayed beautiful women with long hair, and inspired by natural forms such as plants and curved lines.
About Vintage Mermaid Illustration
We found this wonderful vintage mermaid illustration in an old picture book from 1896. The image was done in black and white - pen and ink, and was colourized. The image is typical of the era -- the Victorian people loved fantasy creatures, and mermaids were very interesting to them. They wrote quite a lot about mermaids and merbabies in their fantasy genre.

I absolutely love this product. I turned out even better than I expected too. I bought this for my mother for Mother's Day and she really loves it, she shows it too everyone she can and they all love it as well and want to know where I bought it from. The design turned out perfect, the printing of the words is fantastic they were so clear and easy to read, the color was also nicer than I thought it would be plus the images are so clear to see.
