This is a digitally enhanced print of the vintage oil on canvass painting titled Melody (Musica). It features a woman in mediaeval dress playing a lute. It was created between 1895 and 1897 by Kate Elizabeth Bunce. Bunce was a member of the Birmingham Group - an informal collective of painters and craftsmen associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement around Birmingham, England in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Group formed one of the last outposts of late Romanticism in the visual arts, and an important link between the last of the Pre-Raphaelites and the new Slade Symbolists.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
