Mary D. Hume, Gold Beach, Oregon Plaque
The Mary D. Hume was built in 1881 in Gold Beach, Oregon, by a pioneer named R. D. Hume. He named it after his wife & it was originally used for his cannery. The steamer was also used as a tugboat, whaler, & coastal freighter for a total of 97 years of service! In 1977 it was retired & returned back to Gold Beach. It began to sink in 1985 in the Rogue River & has remained there ever since. it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, & still holds the record for the longest serving vessel of the Pacific Coast! Photo taken September 2017.

I love this item, my only regret is I didn’t realise I could have ordered a larger one I love this prod. The printing overall is good, the dates down the bottom are a bit light and hard to see.

Thank you so much for creating something so special for me, that I now have to remember my dog Tiny that I sadly lost in 2009. Printing came out beautiful! Such great quality!
