Maru ni Mitsukashiwa Luggage Tag
Kashiwa crest. This design is based on the 'three oak leaves pattern' found in 'Heian Monko' and other sources (created on April 6, 2013). In ancient times, oak leaves were used as plates to serve food. Ancient cooks were called 'Kashiwade,' and the 'Kashiwa' in Kashiwade was used to name the oak tree. The 'leaf guardian deity' that protects tree leaves is said to reside in the oak tree, and Shinto priests who use this leaf in rituals use the oak crest. The oak pattern is often seen on clothing depicted in picture scrolls from the Fujiwara period (compiled by Ito Kosaku in 'Japanese Crests')

I was happy with the acrylic tag but it came with a thin leather strap to attach the tag to luggage (like a cat collar). I replaced the strap with a metal ring off of a key ring as the leather strap would come undone or break easily as luggage is sometimes handled without much care by airlines. Printing is great. Colours and positioning of the design I put on the tag were perfect. Very pleased.
