The ginkgo crest. The ginkgo is a plant that came from China (Song Dynasty). In the Song Dynasty, it was called 'yachao' or 'duck's foot' due to the shape of its leaves resembling a duck's foot, which later changed to 'ichou' or ginkgo. Ginkgo is also known as 'kousonju' or 'Duke of Zhou's tree'. The name comes from the fact that even if you plant its seeds, you won't be able to eat them until your grandchildren's generation.
