【Maru ni Chikiri】 Chikiri is a tool for weaving, also known as a warp roller. The Chikiri crest depicts the state of the warp roller being connected by wrapped threads. It is also a term that represents the shape of a notch that connects wooden members together. It is thought to have become a pattern due to its auspicious significance, representing a strong bond. As a pattern, it has been used since the Fujiwara period and can be seen in works such as "Nenchū Gyōji E" and "Kasuga Gongen Genki E". It is believed to have originated from a pattern and become a family crest (according to "Kamon no Jiten" by Takazawa). Note that "Heian Monkan" writes Chikiri as '千切'.
