Mardi Gras Masks Button

Masks are a big part of Mardi Gras, or Carnival, the last day before the beginning of Lent. And Venice, Italy, is one of the best places to find them year round. These masks are from a store window display in a small Venetian street. The feature two blue and gold eye masks; the top one with the curly jester's headdress and the lower mask with only the eyepiece. Bits of other masks; red, gold and blue, crowd the background. The words, "Mardi Gras!" are written in white across the lower part of the image. This picture was taken on a post-Mardi Gras trip, but I would love to be there during the real thing!
