Map of Rome during the Renaissance Poster
Rome in 1565 by Giacomo Gastaldi.
Map of Rome during the Renaissance. Roma was a fortified walled city at this time. Many castles and walled enclaves. The Seven Hills of Rome are described. Circus Maximus, Coliseum, Tiber River and bridges are easy to see. Includes Vatican City before St peters construction. All roads lead to Rome and they are shown on this stunning Map. The Church St Paul Beyond the Walls is depicted.
Relief shown pictorially. Some maps entirely in Italian, some maps entirely in Latin. Title derived by cataloguer from title page of bound Lafrery atlas. Seventeen loose sheets that appear in atlases sold by Antoine Lafrery.
Giacomo Gastaldi was an Italian cartographer, astronomer and engineer of the 16th century. Gastaldi began his career as an engineer, serving the Venetian Republic in that capacity until the fourth decade of the sixteenth century. From about 1544 he turned his attention entirely to mapmaking, and his work represents several important turning points in cartographic development.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
