The metal lathes of yesterday look very much like the ones we have today. Not much has really changed, except maybe for the CNC part of it. These machines are ran by a motor, only the motor is in the front of the shop and the rest is belt driven. Long hair is something you will lose very fast, if it doesn't get caught in the lathe, it will surely get caught in the belts. Looking for POSTERS of this or any of these designs? I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
