Louis Sullivan Cornice Gauge Building Detail Stone Coaster
The "Cornice section from the Gauge Building" is an architectural artwork designed by Louis H. Sullivan, an American architect (1856-1924). The cornice section is part of the Gauge Building located at Michigan Avenue, 18 South in Chicago, Illinois. The design for this specific section was modelled by Kristian Schneider (American, born Norway, 1864-1935) and cast by Winslow Brothers Iron Works (American, 1887-1921). The architectural firm Holabird & Roche was responsible for overseeing the building's design.

The coasters are gorgeous, a quality feel and heavy weight. They look like a precious archeological find. A rustic stone juxtaposed with a modern floral black and white print. I like the way the print goes slightly imperfect on the cut stone edges giving them a kind-of natural beauty.
They are a great product and I use them to protect the arms of my couch from hot cups of coffee. Printing is good happy with the quality.
