Lone Pinyon Pine Tree Christmas Belssings Holiday Card
Southwest scene holiday card. Dead Horse Point is located at the end of a mesa above the Colorado River, on the edge of Canyonlands National Park in Utah. On a trip to Moab, we went to this park and I was struck by the loneliness of this tree but also by the beauty and sense of calm it gave me. I waited for people to clear the area and took this image of this stunning tree. The original really lent itself to being turned into a watercolor. You get a real sense of the southwest colours that are always on display.
