Lillium Orientale Postcard

Lillium Orientale Ancestors of currently and commercially important lily cultivars, Asiatic, Oriental, Longiflorum, Trumpet, and their intersectional hybrids such as LA (Longiflorum × Asiatic), LO (Longiflorum × Oriental), OT (Oriental × Trumpet) and OA (Oriental × Asiatic), are mostly of Asiatic origin. They are thought of as sympathy flowers and a symbol of innocence and rebirth. According to some religious and spiritual interpretations, lilies can symbolise death and represent the moment when many believe the soul departs the body.
