Lilacs in a Glass by Edouard Manet Classic Round Sticker

"Lilacs in a Glass" was painted by Edouard Manet during his last months of life (1882- 1883). This small painting was one of 16 small size flower paintings he created from the flowers friends gave him when they visited him during his illness. He placed the flowers in unique glass and crystal vases which gave beautiful prism-like reflections and light contrasts against the flowers. Each was a small canvas and did not take long to paint. He had given up painting larger images because of his illness. For these small paintings he had to be seated; even so, he did not lose his painterly touch!
