LIGHTHOUSE SHIP SHOAL of LOUISIANA 1859 Poster

1859 Ship Shoal Lighthouse near Isles Dernieres off the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. A highly detailed architectural rendering of the lighthouse showing plan, elevation, and sectional views. The 125 foot iron skeleton tower was placed on screwpiles in 15 feet of water, its large lens making one revolution every 30 seconds. Now, extinguished, the brown skeleton ghost tower is the Ship Shoal daytime landmark and the last remaining lighthouse off the Terrebonne Parish coast of Louisiana.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
