L'Entrée du Christ à Jérusalem Poster
This painting depicts the moment Jesus enters Jerusalem, greeted by crowds laying down palm branches and cloaks, symbolising his recognition as the Messiah. The composition is lively and dynamic, characteristic of Rubens’s mature Baroque style, with rich colours and expressive figures.
The work was originally part of a triptych altarpiece commissioned in 1632 for the chapel of the Saint-Sacrement in the church of Saint Rombault in Mechelen, Belgium. It served as one of the predella panels, accompanying the central panel The Last Supper (now in Milan) and Le Lavement des pieds (The Washing of the Feet), also in Dijon.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
