A friend gave me an idea to paint a picture of a momma bird with her fledglings leaving the nest. It was a big challenge because I've never painted a bird nest or fledglings for that matter. I brainstormed the idea and decided to paint blue jays since I've not painted them before either. I changed the idea a little so that one of the fledglings & the mummy blue jay are encouraging his sibling to join him for a test flight to try out their wings.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
