Le Docteur Just Lucas-Championniere ~ Medical Caricature ~ B. Moloch 1908 ~ ~ ~ Le Docteur Just Lucas-Championniere was a French physician, born in Saint-Léonard (Oise) August 15, 1843 and died in Paris October 22, 1913, during a meeting of the Academy of Sciences in which he had pronounced an important communication on prehistoric trepanning. ~ ~ ~ Just Lucas-Championnière is the grand-son of Pierre-Suzanne Lucas La Championnière (1769-1828), an officer in Charette Army during the wars of Vendee, and the son of Dr. Just Lucas-Championnière (1803-1858) , founder of the Journal of medicine and practical surgery. ~ ~ ~ Internal medicine in 1866, he spent his doctoral thesis in 1870 before engaging in the 5th International ambulance during the war of 1870. He was appointed surgeon of the hospital in 1874. He successively headed the surgical hospital services Cochin (maternity), of Tenon hospital, the Saint-Louis hospital, Beaujon hospital, and finally to the Hotel Dieu until his retirement in 1906. ~ ~ ~ Artist: Hector Moloch (B.
