Lancelot and Guinevere Jigsaw Puzzle

For this artwork, I was inspired by a late night perusal of a book I have on the Pre-Raphaelites. It seems bright and romantic, but, in fact, I have picked a subject on the failure of knighthood. In this case, I’ve done a scene on the turning point of the reign of King Arthur. Here Lancelot and Guinevere have consummated their love and have crossed the line from Courtly Love into adultery. I’ve depicted them in autumn, and, as the summer has ended, so too is the glory of Camelot beginning its descent into the long winter of the Dark Ages.
