Lady Gouldian Finch Tail

Molted feather from a companion bird, raised from an egg. Collected, washed in protective soap and laid out by hand to dry in a breezeless room. I photograph the plume with a Nikor macro lens and massaged it in PhotoShop to show all its natural perfection. From Lewis Mark Grimes "Feather Rishi Collection."

Yes, I love feathers. I save the molted feathers of my companion birds. the lady gouldian finch is one of the most beautiful birds! This macro view gives you an extreme closeup of the molted feather and Zazzle has done a good job printing it.
