Lady Drinking Tea with Cat. Oil on canvas from 1918. One of the great commercial and art nouveau painters working in Russia, Boris Kustodiev employed a style that emphasized bright colours, sharp figures and striking landscapes. This is one of his most charming paintings which features a merchant’s wife drinking tea before a rich table set with watermelon, fruit, bread and beautiful pewter ware. A happy cat rubs up against her shoulder. The woman wears a pretty blue bonnet and the summer in Moscow is warm with a bright sky. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
