The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad: The Route of Phoebe Snow.
In 1908, the former Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad completed a new passenger depot in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This depot, now the Radisson at Lackawanna Station Hotel, was built to replace a much smaller station that was located along Lackawanna Avenue near Franklin Avenue, about 7 blocks west. Its Beaux Arts design was created by renowned New York architect Kenneth Murchison in 1906, and took 14 months to complete. It is constructed of brick and steel, with concrete floors and partitions.
The exterior is faced with Indiana limestone and an 8-foot bronze clock on the façade. The main entrance leading to the former waiting room is furnished in Formosa, a soft, pinkish-yellow Italian marble.
Other areas of the former waiting area and halls are decorated with imported marble, and the barrel-vaulted ceiling is Tiffany glass. Originally constructed as a 5-story structure at a cost of approximately $600,000, a 6th floor was added in the 1920s to create additional office space.
The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, better known as the Lackawanna, was another of the Northeast's many anthracite carriers with a history tracing back to the early 19th century.
During the company's height it never reached 1,000 miles but was nevertheless a well-managed system throughout its history enabling it to avoid bankruptcy from the time of its formation in the early 1850s until its merger with the Erie more than a century later. The DL&W completed two noteable "Air Line" improvement projects during the early 1900s which greatly improved operations; these included the New Jersey Cutoff (Port Morris, New Jersey - Slateford, Pennsylvania) and Nicholson-Hallstead Cutoff. Magnificent feats of engineering the corridors were home to huge earthen fills and stunning viaducts made from reinforced concrete, which still stand today.

The experience buying from Zazzle was great -- the custom made product arrived much faster than I expected (I am in Australia) and they kept me updated with progress emails.
The product itself is good quality and I like the simplistic elegant design. The only criticism I have is that it's not really accurately represented by the picture provided. I thought that the mousepad would be a non-porous or laminate surface and as such the gold writing would actually shine against the soft pink. However the design is printed on a thick fabric surface, so the gold colour is just the shade of gold but doesn't stand out from the pink background. (See picture)
FYI the soft pink is stronger in real life than in my personal picture. Good quality printing, slightly different look to what I expected. It also smells quite strong on arrival but it's only been a day so this may fade.
